Mission Statement:
To provide educational, financial and provisional support to the underrepresented population seeking homeownership within our local community.
Vision Statement:
Purposefully Covering the Gap seeks to provide educational courses to help hopeful homeowners to prepare for homeownership as well as be successful homeowners. We also seek to provide financial support for those needing a little help in closing costs, down payments, inspections, appraisals, and all things included in purchasing homes.
Our Story:
Purposefully Covering the Gap, Inc is the brainchild of Nelldra Allen, Brian Allen and their CPA Rick Favors. Rick had been encouraging Brian and Nelldra to start a non-profit over the years after noticing their philanthropic activities, but they were slow to make any official moves. As time went on, Nelldra continued to work with homebuyers and noticed that many people counted themselves out of the experience of home buying because they did not have the funds or knowledge to proceed. Within many of her real estate transactions she held her clients' hands, taught them the ropes and even offered her commission several times to help close the gap so they could buy their houses. From these experiences, a concrete idea was formed! Nelldra decided that this education and access to funds should be available to others who are also in need. With professional coaching and mentorships she pulled together an amazing Board of Directors and started this non-profit organization.
Purposefully Covering the Gap is a non-profit that focuses on providing educational and financial resources to under represented people in the community seeking homeownership.
